The McGill CFD Laboratory develops state-of-the-art Computational Fluid Dynamics approaches and applies them to multidisciplinary aerospace problems of industrial relevance.
Professor Habashi’s research group has made original strides in the fields of computational aerodynamics (subsonic, transonic, and hypersonic flows), conjugate heat transfer, fluid-structure interaction, wind engineering, and the simulation of in-flight icing (aircraft, rotorcraft, jet engines).
Methodologies for high-performance computing, automatic mesh optimization, and reduced order modeling are developed in-house and introduced in all studies.
The McGill CFD Laboratory maintains a strong interaction with industry and academia, worldwide, with graduate students well-prepared for a career in industry and/or academia.
